Laois Model Aero Club

We fly model planes and helicopters of all shapes and sizes. Call to our site on any Sunday afternoon, weather permitting (dry with wind not too strong), to see for yourself or send us a message to arrange a suitable time.

This site was located by Mr. Philip Meagher, many years ago, who first used it to hand-launch his planes. He manually cleared a piece of scrub to create a small runway, thus sowing the seeds for a site and club that has developed into one of the best in the country. The club was formed in August 1990 by people who are still members.

The Laois Model Aero Club is affiliated to the Model Aeronautics Council of Ireland and uses the ‘ A ’ and ‘ B ' certificate training.
